Pulpal Screening and Early Detection
Pulpal Screening in Greensboro –Â Asheboro –Â High Point –Â Kernersville – Winston-Salem NC
Over the lifetime of a dental patient, individuals can undergo multiple episodes of dental decay and dental procedures, minor or major trauma / accidents that create insult / injury to the dental pulp. An infection within the pulp may lie dormant for years only to erupt/evolve into an acute dental abscess without warning.
As part of your initial dental examination, or prior to any extensive treatment planning, a pulpal screening should be performed. This will aid in reducing and possibly avoiding the acute dental abscess. It may also reduce the need for root canal therapy following placement of the definite dental restorations (i.e., dental crowns, dental bridges, fillings). A full or limited pulpal screening can be performed by our doctors in addition to the new patient exam / assessment by your referring dentist or prior to initiation of extensive treatment plans.

As with most diseases, early detection of the disease process is key to a successful result. Pulpal screening is an excellent way to detect pulpal disease in its early stages. Many endodontic studies demonstrate the importance of identifying a diseased pulp as early as possible, perhaps even before symptoms arise. Identification of the diseased pulp in its early stages can make a root canal treatment more comfortable for the patient and provide a greater chance of success.

Even though I don't remember which doctor did my root canal 7 years ago here, I do remember how great of an experience it was. The one thing that is consistent here is the service and the caring attitudes of everyone here. I mean from the receptionist to the doctor's assistant. I personally wouldn't go anywhere else. This time I want to personally thank Dr. Steve Mohorn and his assistant Becca. Ya'll were great and did an awesome job on my root canal. THANKS A MILLION!!!

The procedure was virtually painless--much more comfortable than I expected. The doctor was very good at explaining what was going on and what the prognosis would be.

Dr Baird had a very calming presence. He checked on me while for waiting for numbing to take affect. Very reassuring and hopeful about results from procedure. Noticed his appreciation toward his staff while working on my tooth. I really believe he likes his staff and enjoys working with them. Very impressed he had a nursing student in to watch apicoectomy. Also, Candace did great job answering many questions and helping with filing of insurance. Very sweet personality.

For two weeks I have known that I needed a root canal. My dentist recommended Piedmont Endodontics. My appointment was made with Dr. Leslie Malueg. During those two weeks, I have made myself sick worrying. Dr. Malueg and her assistant Barbara were understanding, compassionate and kind. Dr. Malueg and Barbara kept me informed on everything that would happen. I was not able to use the laughing gas. From the time Dr. Malueg numb me to the actual procedure, there was NO PAIN. 🙂 I would highly recommend Dr. Malueg to anyone that needs dental work. Thanks Dr. Malueg and Barbara for taking good care of me.!!!

I was extremely apprehensive concerning my appointment for a root canal. Dr. Hal Mohorn and his staff were very caring and compassionate. I never felt a thing. You guys were / are the best! I've already relayed to friends that should they ever have need of a like procedure that they should request to come to your facility and request Dr. Hal Mohorn. Thanks again for a great experience!

For someone who has a fear of the dentist and dental procedures, I could not have asked for better care. I had to undergo a root canal and for days prior to the appointment, I was a nervous wreck. Sitting in the chair, I was trembling and my heart rate was over 100 (I wear a FitBit). But Allee (dental assistant) and Dr. Steve Mohorn kept me calm and assured I would feel no pain. I asked for extra local anesthesia because there have been instances in the past (usually fillings) where I could still feel the pain in the middle of the procedure and they would have to stop and administer more anesthesia. Dr. Mohorn didn't brush off my request (like other dentists have) and made sure I had enough numbness for the entire procedure to be painless... and it was! I was extremely surprised because I always seem to feel at least some pain during dental visits. I even said to the Dr. after he was done, "I have had cleanings that were more unpleasant than that!" And it's true. He was so gentle and Allee did a great job at explaining everything she and the Dr. were about to do. The root canal itself took about 30 minutes. They have headphones and a radio available so you can listen to music during the procedure - it seems so simple an idea but it really made a huge difference - and nowhere I have been before had that option. Overall, I am very pleased with the entire process from check-in to check-out. I would highly recommend this practice.

This was my first experience with a root canal and I was very nervous. From the time of scheduling my appointment from my regular dentist office until check-out after the procedure, including patient follow up calls the office staff ( Carol & Donna) was very courteous. Dr. Mohorn recognized my anxiety and was extremely patient and thorough ( great sense of humor). His assistant Allee was was also wonderful. Hopefully I won't have to go through this again, but if so, I will come to this office. Regards- Annette Smith

It was the best experience, even though it was for a root canal. I have had no pain or soreness as was described, and that has to be due to the fact that Dr Stanley was wonderful. He and Sharon were very thorough with the explanation of what I should expect. Sharon is a doll, the sweetest ever. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that needs any endodontics treatment.

Would be a toss up between Dr. Morgan and the lady who assisted him. Forced to choose between the two I'd have to go with the lady who assisted. Obviously I wasn't her first patient. She knew exactly how to treat a person. Was very polite, very caring, had a calming effect on me. And from a patients viewpoint, she knew exactly what she was doing, seemed to be well in tune with Dr. Morgan.
